Andrea comes to us with 8 years of experience in dental hygiene. Originally from the Charleston, WV area Andrea graduated from West Virginia University with her bachelor’s in dental hygiene in 2011 and moved to DC to gain experience as a traveling hygienist. Andrea has work experience in restorative, cosmetic, periodontal, general and holistic dentistry, treating patients of all ages. Andrea also studied Christian ministry in northern California and developed a passion for leadership and is currently studying to get her Master’s degree.
She is very passionate about people and helping them become their truest most happy, most whole healthy selves! “I think that carries over into dentistry. I like to think outside of the box, to make dentistry fun, enjoyable, relatable, and also to really take a whole body approach to treating my patients. I love being a hygienist at this time because we are finally starting to see the integration of dentistry and overall health care. No longer will one part of our bodies be seen as more important than the other. Total wellness starts with prevention and that starts in our mouths.”
Andrea has training in implant care, as well as advanced periodontal therapy training using diode lasers. She has certification as an implant care practitioner ,as well as local anesthesia, and nitrous oxide certifications. She enjoys new technology and staying up to date with the latest research, as well as taking many cutting edge continuing education classes.
When she isn’t working she enjoys the outdoors, reading, spending time with friends, exploring new cities, helping out with the local American Dental Hygienist component of DC, giving back through dental community service events, spending time with her church community, or planning her next travel adventure!
